  • Maintenance Superintendent

    Management

    Summary:

    Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the maintenance activities of the complex to include all buildings, processing equipment, refrigeration, and waste pre-treatment facilities.  This role requires excellent technical, communications and problem solving skills to coordinate a complex work schedule needed to keep facilities in optimal operation.  An ability to evaluate the physical layout of the plant while also considering the Company’s goals and objectives is critical in order to make the best opportunity recommendations for cost savings, optimal layout for efficiency improvements and enhancements to pork processing systems.  Key responsibilities will include maintaining an effective preventative maintenance schedule and controlling mechanical inventories. An ability to prepare annual budgets for capital and repair needs will be required as well as an ability to interact with senior leadership when communicating project requirements and evaluating progress.  Communicating, motivating, developing, and evaluating a competent staff of supervisors and mechanics capable of performing their maintenance specialties is key to the success of this role as is achieving an efficient utilization of this important work team.  The incumbent must work closely with Operations and Safety to promote good work habits and safety.  This role requires excellent attention to detail and an ability to execute in order to manage large on site projects.

    • Help to ensure protection of business assets via internal control, auditing, and ensuring proper insurance coverage is in place for all contractors providing service.
    • Plan, develop, and implement a parts inventory control program, which provides dollar value, and inventory status. Controls mechanical expenses within established budget and actively pursue cost reduction opportunities in labor, material cost, and inventory balance of spare parts.
    • Proactively diagnose problems and develop ways to pre-empt breakdowns by developing strategies to improve overall reliability of the plant.

  • Scientific Yield Technician

    Management Support

    The Scientific Technician – Yield Technician ensures that yield testing is completed in an accurate and precise manner using a process that keeps product safe and follows all quality assurance requirements.  A Scientific Technician – Yield Technician will have a strong working knowledge of data management, food safety practices, and carcass anatomy and associated fabrication practices to produce standard market cuts.  The Scientific Technician – Yield Technician will rely on his/her knowledge in the principles of swine anatomy, meat science, statistics, and Microsoft Excel to fill the current role.  The ideal candidate will be able to oversee, enhance and actively participate in day-to-day activities on the fabrication floors and provide timely written feedback and data to senior management about pork primal and sub-primal yields.

     

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Scientific Technician – Yield Technician is responsible for performing all job functions necessary under the facilities yield testing program.  This position is responsible for planning and coordinating data collection.  Further, this position will be required to apply fundamental pork fabrication knowledge to determine if product meets a defined set of specifications.  Application of basic data quality management and statistics fundamentals will be necessary.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Perform and carry out tasks related to pork primal and sub-primal yield testing for the purpose of improving overall production:
      • Applying company product specifications to online production.
        • Ability to provide instructions/training to other personnel in the facility.
        • Ability to sort product based on set criteria.
      • Project planning and coordination to meet defined timelines.
      • Communication and coordination with Operations and Quality Assurance team members and management.

  • Sanitation Supervisor C-Shift

    Management

    The Sanitation Supervisor oversees the operations of the cleaning and sanitation processes performed by operations, maintenance, and/or the third-party cleaning contractor. The Sanitation Supervisor ensures that safe work practices are enforced and that all Food Safety Standards are met throughout the site with the objective of minimizing pre-operational deficiencies, reducing product loss, downtime, and optimization of water and compressed air usage.

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Direct supervision of assigned staff.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ensures appropriate preventative maintenance programs and practices are utilized by Maintenance and Operation departments as they relate to the Cleaning and Sanitation Master Schedule, and coordinates with these departments to ensure appropriate attention is given to dry pick up, equipment disassembly and reassembly, and other activities related to the effectiveness of cleaning and sanitation. Acts lead in assessing and mitigating food safety risks associated with construction and major maintenance projects.
    • Evaluates facility cleaning and sanitation conditions visually and analytically to assess risk based on food safety and public health principles and prioritize corrective actions.
    • Audits processes and documentation against the consistent application and execution of SSOPs, SPSs, and all related sanitation practices.
    • Responsible for reporting to Sanitation Manager all analysis and reporting analytical results and trends relevant to monitoring and verifying the following;

    The effectiveness of the cleaning and sanitation process and other pre-requisite programs, including, but not limited to:

    • Performance during dry pick-up conducted by operations and/or the cleaning company.
    • Progress of daily and non-daily cleaning scheduled tasks.
    • Correct application of chemicals through titration testing, drain baskets management, and water house usage.
    • Verification of cleaning efficiency with ATP swabs and implementation of corrective actions.
    • Verification of sanitation efficiency with Environmental Pre-Operational swab results and implementation of corrective actions.
    • Responsible for monitoring and verifying the adequate implementation of cleaning and sanitation activities to support the pre-requisite programs (Allergen Control, Pest Control, Chemical Control, Glass and Brittle, etc.)
    • Pre-Operational deficiencies identified by the QA department.
    • Pre-Operational Sanitation non-compliances during USDA inspection.
    • Conducts SQF internal audits, elaborates reports, and maintains record keeping as they relate to the sanitary design of equipment and facilities.
    • Develops and uses SPC to support the SQF Program.
    • Liaison with USDA-FSIS on documentation to support the SQF Program
    • Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
    • Informs management of any food safety or quality issues or of any processes which have become non-compliant with specified requirements.
    • Regular pre-ops and audits of QVEST cleans throughout the plant.

     

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    The Sanitation Technician is responsible for all aspects of externally sanitizing all production equipment, tools, and work areas, as well as the cleanliness of the entire plant according to a set schedule ensuring GMP and quality standards are met to maintain an efficient flow of the production process.

    SUMMARY:  This position will collect accurate and precise data from various production lines and processes throughout the plant. Performing tasks aside from data collection will be required. Those tasks are expected to be completed according to company procedures. Must effectively manage time to achieve data integrity and test reliability. This person will establish positive and professional working relationships with Management and our owners. Effective communication with Management, line leads, other R&D Techs, members of the Integrated Research Committee, and production employees is required to accomplish data collection, experiment design, quality, specifications, and food safety goals.

    Triumph Foods is currently seeking a Maintenance Trainer to assist the Maintenance Manager in a broad range of maintenance functions in an industrial multi-shift, 800,000 + square foot facility.  This individual will provide professional knowledge and expertise in the administration and support to the Maintenance department. The Maintenance Trainer will report to the Maintenance Supervisor on their assigned shift.

    Accountabilities:

    • Trainer will be responsible to understand and teach process flow of products to new hires. Stockyards, Zones 1-4 of Kill floor, Rendering, WW, Zones 1-5 of Cut floor, Value Added and Material handling including Shipping.

     

    • Teach new hires on best practices when using hand tools and power equipment tools. Also ensure that best practices are being followed.

     

    • Teach new and existing maintenance employees proper techniques for welding. Including SMAW, GTAW.

     

    • Teach new and existing tm’s electrical troubleshooting skills including 480v, 270v, 110v circuits.

     

    • Teach new and existing tm’s trouble shooting skills involving control circuits 24vac and 24vdc including calibration settings 4-20ma signals.

     

    • Learn and Teach new processes as they could potentially be brought into the facility, example meaning new machinery coming into the plant.

     

    • Go through OJT trainings with new and existing tm’s to assist them with understanding the requirements and how to achieve them successfully.

     

    • Work with new hire employee in their future job placement area to help get them on the correct path before being let loose on their own.

     

    • Assist the training manager with safety trainings both in the classroom and in the field.

    SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    ·         Aseptically collect and prepare samples for various microbial and chemical analysis

    ·         Perform laboratory analysis using established procedures and techniques

    ·         Evaluate and verify sample results and data entry

    ·         Insure safety, housekeeping, and compliance standards are maintained

     

    EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    Preference will be given to college students working in scientific majors. No experience or training required but would prefer three years related experience and/or training in a lab setting.

    SKILLS REQUIRED:

     

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents in the English language such as laboratory protocols, safety rules, and procedure manuals. Must be organized and detail oriented. Must have good troubleshooting skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook/Excel/Word. Must have ability to work as a team member and individually to complete given tasks. Able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
