Safety Specialist

Triumph Foods is currently seeking a Safety Specialist to assist the Safety Manager in a broad range of safety functions on 1st shift in an industrial multi-shift, 800,000 + square foot facility. This individual will provide professional knowledge and expertise in the administration and support of safety programs on 1st Shift.

Accountabilities:
The Safety Specialist will report to the Safety Coordinator on 1st shift.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local legislation and codes governing health and safety.
- Assessing risk potential across the organization and ensuring proper signage, guarding, and protection measures are in place.
- Support and assist in conducting accident investigations.
- Assist with job hazard analysis, ergonomic assessments.
- Assist with power industrial trucks training, evaluations, and inspections.
- Participating in or assisting Safety Committee members, supervisors, and/or generals on including safety walks, UCRs etc..
- Assisting with compliance training for all levels of employees and ensuring delivery of same to keep the facility in compliance.
- Working with others to evaluate new safety equipment and management of necessary personal protective equipment.
- Responding and providing assistance to all emergency situations.
- Keeping up-to-date on new safety methods and procedures to applicable codes and regulations.
Education & Experience:
1 year of experience (including internships) preferable in the meat industry. Experience as safety program participant is a plus but not required.
A four-year degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field is a plus.
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Additional REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate will:
- Ability to communicate and assist with Safety policies and programs.
- Ability to handle tough situations with ease and influence.
- Ability to work various shifts to meet the needs of the business.

Health Services Nurse B-Shift

SUMMARY: The staff nurse will provide medical care and assessment to Triumph employees as well as direct the functions of the medical department for that shift (i.e. – medical leaves, ergonomic issues, wellness activities, etc.). The staff nurse also supports the Nurse Manager in handling legal record keeping and noting trends/issues to be taken to appropriate Human Resource and production management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

· Treat/educate employees. Evaluate and assess employee complaints and determine appropriate medical care (work related and personal injury/illness).
- Able to make rounds of facility and areas of responsibility as needed (i.e. – plant walk through).
- Communicating effectively with employees to determine complaints/needs and assist with training (i.e. – Blood Borne Pathogen, etc.).
- Communicating effectively with Medical Case Management and Worker’s Compensation issues.
- Be a liaison between health professionals, employees, management personnel to facilitate communication.
- Communicating effectively with management to ensure action/follow up on specific issues.
- Maintain employee records to facilitate timely and accurate completion of entries on OSHA 300 Log and First Reports of injury according to established policies/procedures to ensure compliance.
- Maintains complete confidentiality of all medical data. Ensures professional standards of Occupational Health are maintained.
- Timely and Accurate documentation of information for entry into employee medical files and filing.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Must have EMT, Paramedic, LPN or RN.
Possess an active nursing licensed in State of Missouri.
BLS certification required within 90 days from start date.

EDUCATION OR TRAINING & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: You are a citizen of Canada or Mexico; possess a college degree in one of the qualifying professions for this position (see NAFTA list); One (1) year experience in a fresh pork processing facility working in the Main Barn of the Stockyards area. Must have current humane animal handling license. Ability to communicate written and verbal in English language.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively with employees and management.
Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position and perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
Must meet the company standards for attendance, safety and personal conduct.
SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for filling in for absenteeism. Must be able to assist Supervisor & Trainer in the daily operations in the Main Barn of the Stockyards Area.

Part Time Production B Shift

DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for entry level non-skilled labor, while conforming to company standards for safety, attendance, and personal conduct. This position is full of repetitive motions for working no more than 30 hours a week. Part time production work days are Friday, Saturday and Monday. Working conditions will be at 28 degrees and damp on the cold side of production.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Applicants will be considered for any general laborer role such as Cut/Conversion. Applicants that meet the minimum requirements for consideration may be contacted for an interview.
REQUIREMENTS:
Qualified applicants will have a minimum of 6 months of continuous work experience in the previous year. Work history must represent gainful employment, and must be verifiable.
